Traversing the Utah Territory, settlers crossed the Colorado River at Lee's Ferry, and then made their way along the Little Colorado River. From this juncture, hundreds of Mormon settlers built towns, established schools and churches, and fought with locals across the face of the Arizona Territory before they could call it their home.
